“ Abhyanga should be resorted to daily. It wards off old age, exertion, and aggravation of Vata”. - Ashtanga Hrdayam Sutrasthana: II: 8-9
Abhyanga or self-massage, using oils, is a highly recommended practice in Ayurveda to combat diseases and rejuvenate the body. In winters, Vata and Kapha imbalances often show up on the body as we suffer from cough, cold and skin dryness. For this purpose, sesame oil, also called ‘king of oils’ in Ayurveda, is used for its ‘Ushna guna’ to balance out aggravated Vata and Kapha dosha. Made using white sesame seeds, this abhyanga oil is not only quite aromatic but also comes with many other benefits.
- Increases blood circulation
- Moisturizes skin and hair
- Anti-ageing properties
- Reduces excess fat
- Increases strength
- Eliminates toxins
- Suitable for both men & women
Recommended use: Take a sufficient quantity of Abhyanga oil and massage vigorously for 15-20 minutes and rinse off using a mild soap.
